Connecting the Community with Technology
Technology is an innovative, educational tool. The Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation is proud to help place these tools in the hands of the Grand Rapids community. Downloadable eAudiobooks are available as well as circulating, pre-loaded Nooks, allowing patrons to experience their favorite books in a new form.
Winner of the Urban Libraries Council's Top Innovator Award 2014, the DigiBridge Initiative empowers Grand Rapids Public School students to take their education to the next level. Designed to bridge the technology gap, the DigiBridge Initiative connects 5th through 12th grade students to the library's online and technological resources. This includes access to eReaders, research database training, a technology camp and a digital library card.
An ever-evolving field, the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation is constantly investing in the upkeep and improvement of the library's technological resources. The Foundation is currently investigating the funding, development and implementation of a Digital Media Lab. The Digital Media Lab will provide teens the opportunity to develop their technological literacy and film-making abilities. Click here to donate!
